22 Okt What if?
Started my day at 04.18 this morning. By choice.
Had a conversation with a friend the other day about feeling real’ tired and drained of energy.
”I never seem to get enough sleep” I said to her.
”But do you sleep too much maybe?” she asked me.
I said ”no, I don’t think so.” Then later I started thinking, ”but wait, maybe I do.”
It hit me that almost every morning I lie awake at around four in the morning, trying to force myself to go back to sleep. I’ve never had any intention to get up at this hour. ”It’s four o’clock in the morning and you go back to sleep, that’s what you do.” Or do you?
Maybe this is just something we’ve been taught by tired parents.
Kids normally wake up early, eager to start their day, but we tell them: ”It’s too early. It’s still dark outside, go back to sleep.”
What if that’s wrong? What if?
According to ayurveda and yoga it is quite wrong. So I desided to listen to my body this morning and go against the habit of going back to sleep. I stood up at 04.18, gave myself an oilmassage – coconut oil, proper ayurvedic style – had a shower, brushed my teeth, had a cup of warm water with aloe vera and lemon, put on soft Music, lit some Candles and inscense and then meditated and did yoga for 90 minutes.
Best start ever!!!
Then, as I lay in shavasana, my son came out of his room and without a word tip toed over to my mat and lay down on top of me.
Heart to heart.
Love to love.
Stillness. Peace. Togetherness.
Start your day with love. Listen to your body. Take care of yourself, think only about the little things that make you happy. They are the most important things in your Life!
Think like a Child, recall that feeling of when you just couldn’t wait to get started with you day.
